it was my birthday, I got some money, I added a bit more money, what we could afford, anyway, and decided to buy a Playstation 2. I checked on ebay, watched a few auctions end, and decided on this item. So I put in my bid. I eventually won, with the PS2 going for £66. Not too bad, I thought - we'd priced up new ones, and they were nearer £100, so I thought I had a bargain. Sadly, this is where it all started to go horribly wrong. On further pages, are copies of all the correspondence between us, and our seller. Far from it being smooth, it has ended up being one of the worst transactions I've ever done in my ebay time. Stupidly, I paid by bank transfer. Alarm bells should have rung, when the seller didn't accept PayPal. The payment reached the seller, and two weeks later, he got around to posting it. The package arrived, and what should have been, as pictured a PS2 console, black controller, 8MB memory card, plug, connectors for the television, ended up being a PS2 console, a grey PS1 console (which didn't work), no memory card, and no plug!!!! Ridiculous. By this point the seller had been reported to ebay, although he didn't respond. A few days later, and he has reported me, as a 'non-paying bidder' - something which is so ridiculous it's unreal! He has our money, and he conned us out of what should have been a great ebay purchase. In the interest of fairness, and because he wont be able to defend himself, and this will obviously seem one-sided, I decided I should include all correspondence from the seller, as well as a pdf of the page on ebay, so you can see his instructions clearly. Especially the part where he says he'll send the item within two days. Oh, and the part with big bold red letters saying "Includes 8MB memory card".
I had no option than to leave him bad feedback, and he has retaliated with "sent them a perfect ps2&they complained and became very nasty+abusive POOR". Avoid this seller, he gives ebay a bad name.
There are daily updates on this event, the latest being, the seller has asked me if I'll withdraw my bad feedback I left him, and he'll remove his retaliatory one back to me. I don't care if people see that feedback! I can sell enough and have tons of great feedback, whereas he has three bad feedback's in the space of a week! He's doing this with everyone he's selling items to!!
Note added 15/6 - last night we were in contact with someone else, who has bought from this seller - again, they've sent the money, and received nothing - in fact, what they're going through right now, is near identical to what we did - so we're hoping that other people will look here, and see that kerleyarcher is a BAD ebay seller, and will think twice about dealing with him.
Final (?) note added 20-7. No news, no nothing. BUT! kerleyarcher is no longer a registered ebay seller. Whether that means he's closed his account, changed his name, or whatever, I don't know. Or maybe it just means ebay have finally come to some sort of conclusion that actually, he's a bad ebayer. We can live with waving bye bye to the things we didn't get, at least other people wont be ripped off by him. Ah well, c'est la vie, as they say.
